TAISABAKI WAZA (body movement techniques)
Taisabaki waza is often translated as body movement technique, but actually means
body control technique (tai=body, sabaki=control).
Being able to move in a correct way is essential in both self–defense and fighting.
Through taisabaki waza we learn maai, the correct fighting distance. You must be able to move quick and easy. We use both linear and circular movements, irimi senkai (soto
kaiten and uchi kaiten).
- Yori ashi

In Yori ashi forward, the front foot moves forward one step, the back foot slides behind,
the opposite at Yori ashi backwards.
This is the most important taisabaki when performing punching and kicking techniques.
