TAISABAKI WAZA (body movement techniques)

Taisabaki waza is often translated as body movement technique, but actually means body control techniques (tai=body, sabaki=control).

3. Taisabaki 180° forward

Taisabaki 180° forward is the movement we use when releasing against a choke hold from behind or when entering with soto/uchi kaiten (rotation on the outside/inside of the uke).

  • Take an oblique step forward with your left leg and lift your right arm.
  • Turn around to the right.
  • Take one step back with right leg to Kamae.
